Learn how to bind the bottom of the basket

Learn how to weave a pretty spiral pattern around the structure

Finish the top with several rows of woven willow and a hanging handle

Take home a wonderful handmade basket to keep your garlic in

This is another great introduction to willow weaving and is adaptable for a shorter or longer course. The longer the course, the bigger the basket.

This could also be suitable for children accompanied by an adult but they would probably use rush rather than willow for the weaving.

Start with a base made in advance by Helen

Put in the uprights

Weave up the sides

Put on a simple border

Finish the basket with a pegged handle

Take home an amazing basket that you will be proud of
